Directory Assistance

Wyoming Relay Service will relay Directory Assistance (DA) calls (i.e. to 411) between relay users who are deaf, hard of hearing, deafblind, or speech disabled and the Local Exchange (LEC) DA operator. Once the caller makes the request, the Communications Assistant will contact the appropriate LEC DA operator. After obtaining the requested telephone number, the caller may choose to place the call through Wyoming Relay Service or dial it directly.

Voicemail/Answering Machine Retrieval Services

TTY/VCO users can request Wyoming Relay Service retrieve messages from their voice answering machines or voicemail.

  1. Dial the TTY number, 711 or 1-800-877-9965; or dial the VCO number, 711 or 1-877-877-1474.
     

  2. To request answering machine retrieval, the TTY/VCO user types "AMR" with instructions or password and then "GA."
     

  3. The Communications Assistant types "PLS PLACE YOUR HANDSET NEXT TO YOUR ANS MACHINE AND TURN ON GA."
     

  4. The TTY/VCO user places the handset on the speaker part of the answering machine until all messages have been retrieved.
     

  5. Then the TTY/VCO user places the handset back on the TTY or VCO device and types "GA."
     

  6. The Communications Assistant types the messages.
     

  7. Voice users can request Wyoming Relay Service retrieve TTY messages from voice answering machines or voicemail.

TTY Public Payphones
711 or 800-877-9965

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has issued an order outlining an interim plan for access to public pay phone service through Wyoming Relay. The current order states that:

  • Wyoming Relay users may place payphone calls free of charge.

 

  • Toll calls can be billed through calling cards and prepaid cards.​

 

  • TTY pay phones may be available at hospitals, airports, train stations, hotels, libraries, museums, government buildings and freeway rest stops.

International Relay Service

Wyoming Relay allows you to place and receive calls to and from anywhere in the world (using English or Spanish language only). Calls originating from a country outside of the US may also access Wyoming Relay by dialing 605-224-1837. 

 

Hearing persons at an international location wanting to reach a Wyoming 1-line CapTel user, would first dial 608-204-2770.  Following the recorded prompt, enter the CapTel user’s 10-digit phone number and your call will be connected.
